About Bird Artist Chris Lodge:
Chris Lodge is a bird artist currently based in East Anglia, UK. He has previously lived at various locations
throughout Britain and for two years in Massachusetts USA.
He has travelled widely in recent years but his current bird paintings are of species observed in Essex and Suffolk where he
is now living and painting. Chris is currently gaining much inspiration from the estuaries and marshes of the East
Anglian coast and is working on a series of paintings featuring ducks, waders, terns and gulls.
Chris Lodge often paints with acrylics, a medium which suits his typically clean and realistic style. Each of his
paintings captures the character of the bird depicted along with the light and ambience of the moment it was watched.
Chris's forthcoming new bird paintings are to be his first using oil paints, and he is excited to see what influence
on his style of painting this new medium will bring.
Chris successfully exhibited again at the British Birdwatching Fair in August 2008, for his fourth consecutive year
and a selection of his latest work is currently displayed at The Birdscapes Gallery in Norfolk.
His original bird paintings are hung in private collections throughout the UK, Europe and the United States.
