Common and Black Headed Gulls - A painting by Chris Lodge.
This oil painting of Gulls is my latest work, completed in April 2010. The inspiration for this painting came from watching these
birds, resting on a frozen lake a few months ago during the winter.
I always enjoy painting gulls as I consider them to be very
elegant birds. I also liked the way the colours of the birds seemed to be derived from the ice itself, giving them a real sense of
place within their harsh environment.
