Curlew - A Sunlit Portrait (2008), original painting in acrylic by Chris Lodge.

Framed original - SOLD, prints available.
This painting of a Curlew is my latest work, completed in August 2008. Curlews are one of my favourite British wading
birds and one of the most evocative to be found on a British estuary in winter. This bird was observed on a beautifully sunny day
along the Orwell estuary in Suffolk, the subtle low winter sunlight highlighting every delicate feather detail.

Little Stints - Autumn Dawn (2008), original painting in acrylic by Chris Lodge.

Framed original - £295, including postage within the UK.
This painting of Little Stints is my latest work. The birds were observed at dawn last September picking their way
daintily through the shallows, as the early morning light illuminated them beautifully at a low angle from the side.
These tiny wading birds, although only a few months old, had already migrated several hundred miles from where they were born
on the high arctic tundra; flying across the North Sea to Suffolk on the east coast of England, on their long journey south.

Pintails - An Early Spring Evening (2008), original painting in acrylic by Chris Lodge.

Framed original - £450, including postage within the UK.
This painting of Pintails has recently been completed in July 2008. The birds were watched feeding nervously on the edge of a pool
on a cold but bright evening in February. There was a stiff breeze coming in off the sea, whipping up
the water into small waves and delicately lifting the Lapwings crests. The whole scene was bathed in the pink
and yellow tones of the setting sun.
